The Musician’s Guide to Physical Wellness
A series exploring mind and body-based self care practices
This Series has already happened, but you can find resources here:
I created this series to give you an easy way to try six different practices for body-based self care.
Musicians move for a living, and we all must learn how to take care of ourselves in order to keep playing.
Over six weeks, you will get to experience:
Feldenkrais- Rachel White Galvin (10/5)
Tai Chi- Sara Kapps (10/12)
Pilates- Eva Stern (10/19)
Body Mapping- William Johnston (10/26)
Alexander Technique- Lilly Sutton (11/2)
Myofascial Release- Kayleigh Miller (11/9)

Every musician needs a practice. What’s yours?
What will a session look like? Or more accurately, feel like? After being introduced to the modality, we will all try it out. I want this to be as experiential as possible so you get a taste of the practice. Sessions will last from 7-8:15pm EST. From 8:15-8:30 we will have time for Q & A with our guest and general discussion.
Ready to learn what works for you?
Moving well is playing well. The more efficient and free in our movement we are, the longer and healthier we can play. Prevention is the best strategy to keep yourself healthy. That being said, we are playing our instruments hours a day, year after year. You may already have some physical issues. Now’s the time to learn how to manage and heal those aches and pains. Take what you learn in this series and expand on it. Make your routine your own. A few minutes a day can make all the difference.
Where do you start? Let’s figure this out together.
